A TEENAGER who had a kitchen knife without good reason or authority at Bournemouth beach has been ordered to carry out unpaid work.
Kane Victor Nigel Bailey had the blade at the seafront on September 27 last year.
Bailey is also said to have assaulted and resisted a police officer on the same day.
The 19-year-old appeared at Poole Magistrates' Court on March 11 to be sentenced having admitted possession of a knife, assaulting an emergency worker by beating them and resisting an officer in the execution of their duty at an earlier hearing.
The bench handed Bailey, whose address was given as Park Street, Trowbridge, an overall sentence of 12 months' detention, suspended for 12 months, with a requirement to complete 200 hours of unpaid work.
He was also ordered to pay £156 surcharge and £85 costs, while the knife was seized.
