VANDALS damaged a window and a door as they tried to force their way into a school.

Police have appealed for information after a large tent peg was used to try to get into Gillingham School.

Officers attended the Hardings Lane school after an alarm went off at 10.50pm on Sunday March 7.

The offenders are described as a white male suspect, around five feet seven inches tall and of slim build who was wearing an orange hooded top and a female suspect who was around five feet two inches tall and was wearing a blue parka coat with the hood up and light blue denim ripped jeans.

Police Constable Rob Hopper, of Dorset Police, said: "We are continuing to investigate this incident and I would urge anyone with information that might assist our enquiries to please contact us.

"I am keen to hear from anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area of the school on the night of Sunday 7 March 2021 or who has any information as to who might be responsible."
