A MAN approached a child in Poole and asked him if he wanted to get into his car.
Police have launched an investigation and are carrying out "reassurance patrols" following the suspicious incident near the Wallisdown roundabout.
At this stage, the man's intentions have not been confirmed.
It was reported to Dorset Police that a 10-year-old boy was walking near to the junction of Bryant Road and Mossley Avenue at around 3.25pm on Friday, March 12, when he was approached by a man.
The man was stood by a black car and asked if the boy wanted to get into his vehicle.
The boy did not engage with the man and ran off.
Police said the man is described as white, middle aged, possibly with dark hair and was wearing black a Puffa-style jacket and black jogging bottoms.
A force spokesperson said: "Officers have been making enquiries into the incident and, while the man’s intentions have not been confirmed at this stage, officers will be carrying out reassurance patrols in the area."
