FEWER than 25 coronavirus cases were confirmed in Dorset over the last 24 hours, latest figures show.

Data released by the government shows in the 24 hours leading up to 4pm on Sunday, 22 cases were confirmed across the county.

The BCP Council area recorded 14 new cases, taking the total since the start of the pandemic to 24,927.

In the seven days leading up to March 9, the latest rolling seven-day period, 135 cases were confirmed in BCP, giving a rolling infection rate of 34.1 per 100,000 people.

The Dorset Council area recorded eight new cases, taking the total to 11,494.

The rolling rate stood at 33.8 per 100,000 after 128 cases were confirmed in a week.

Elsewhere, five cases were confirmed in the New Forest, taking the total to 5,996.

The rolling rate was 26.7 per 100,000 after 48 cases were confirmed in the week leading up to March 9.
