THE number of new Covid-19 cases recorded in Dorset stands at 40, according to the latest government update.
The Department of Health and Social Care website shows 24 new case were recorded across the BCP Council area in the 24-hours up to 4pm on Thursday, March 11.
This brought the total number of cases since the start of the pandemic to 24,868 in BCP.
Meanwhile, in the Dorset Council area 16 cases have been reported in the same period.
Since March 11,437 cases have been confirmed.
The number of cases in the BCP area over the latest rolling seven-day period is 127, with a rate of 32.1. In Dorset 126 cases have been confirmed in the last past seven days. The case rate is 33.3.
In the New Forest there were eight new cases. The total in the district since the pandemic started is 5,979. A total of 51 cases have been seen in the past seven days and the case rate is 28.3.
