NO new coronavirus deaths have been confirmed in Dorset hospitals, latest figures show.

Data released by NHS England shows no new deaths were recorded in any of the county’s hospitals, with just two people dying with Covid-19 in hospitals across the south west.

It means since the start of the pandemic, a total of 719 people have died at the University Hospitals Dorset Trust, 109 people have died at the Dorset County Hospital and 72 have died at the Dorset Healthcare Trust.

Across England, a further 159 people died with Covid-19 in hospital, taking the total to 84,935.

Patients were aged between 35 and 99 years old and all but 11 had underlying health conditions.

The deaths date back to December 11 with the majority coming after March 5.
