MOTORISTS in north Dorset are the latest victims in a spate of thefts of catalytic converters from vehicles.
Brazen thieves are even stealing from cars parked on driveways and are thought to be selling them on for the value of the metal.
A car parked on a driveway in Honeymead Lane in Sturminster Newton was targeted between 8pm and 8.30pm on Monday March 8.
Theives also stole from a vehicle in Springfield Close in Shaftesbury the following evening and romSheasby Close in Sixpenny handley, also ont he evening of Tuesday March 9.
A Dorset Police spokesman said: "Officers have been making enquiries into these incidents. No arrests have been made at this stage.

"We will continue to investigate all reports of this nature but we would also ask you to take preventative measures where possible to stop these incidents from happening.
"Park the rear of your vehicle close to fences, walls or a kerb or keep your vehicle in a garage where possible. Alternatively, aim to park in a well-lit and well-populated area.
"If you’ve been a victim or witness any suspicious activity in the area, please report this to us via our website or by calling 101. Please always call 999 if a crime is in progress or there is danger to life."
Police in the New Forest area have also reported numerous similar offences this week.
