POLICE investigating a burglary carried out by raiders wielding crowbars have made a second arrest.

Officers were called to Hillbury Road in Alderholt after three men entered a property and carried out a search.

The incident took place between 2pm and 3.30pm on Wednesday March 3 and cash was stolen from the property.

CCTV images showed men inside the property with crowbars and home owner Jon Lucas was out when the raid took place.

Drug dealer told court he had firearm 'for his own protection'

Afterwards he said: "I came back and saw my workshop door had been forced open, we'd been gone about an hour.

"Then I ran to the house. I was going to catch a burglar but when I saw in the footage that they each had a crowbar I was glad they were not there. I wouldn't have stood a chance really."

Thieves steal thousands of pounds worth of catalytic converters

A 37-year-old Poole man has been arrested on suspicion of burglary and is helping police with their enquiries.

A 21-year-old Bournemouth man previously arrested in connection with the incident has now been released without charge.
