Meet these eight gorgeous babies all born in Dorset in unprecedented times.

They are of course oblivious to the year that is now behind us as they bring happiness to families across the region.

There was double the celebrations as identical twin boys Frankie and Oliver Harker were born to Rebecca Robson weighing 5lb 5oz and 5lb. She wished to say "Thank you to all at TCU Poole maternity who went above and beyond."

Gratitude was also expressed as Finlay George Pitcher was born at 3.10pm on 26 Jan 2021, weighing 6lb 12oz, to new parents, Jamie and Caz who said: "We would like to thank the staff at Poole Hospital for their support, kindness and professionalism".

Louise Millward welcomed first baby Jack David Plucknett on 01/09/2020 in Poole also, weighing 7lb 4oz.

And Charlotte Kennedy gave birth to Harvey Jeffery on 25 November 2020 at St Mary's Maternity Hospital,Poole, weighing 6lb12oz.

Harvey was due on his brother William's birthday but decided to arrive three weeks and a day early.

Charlotte said:“ We stayed in hospital for 1 week due to my high blood pressure, but the midwives were fabulous. It was bliss to be in a bubble away from the news and outside world, although we were excited to be reunited with daddy and a very proud big brother.”

Rachel and Jack Constantine welcomed new baby Quill Cassius Constantine -Tatchell during the first lockdown on 31/03/20 in Poole hospital, weighing 6lb 11oz. He is a brother for Ethan,Lily,Felix,Oscar, Dexter and Trixie.

Rachel explained it has been a hugely challenging time: “Quill arrived in the first lockdown. My husband Jack couldn’t be with us to meet his son because he was with Dexter, then aged 5, having proton Beam radiation for cancer on his face.

"The lockdown and shielding with a baby repeatedly has been very challenging.Now coming up to his first birthday he’s been to very few places other than nursery but has been a true therapy baby to help Dexter through treatment and they adore one another.

Both Dexter and dad Jack didn’t meet Quill untill he was three weeks old."

Baby Rosie Louise Davies arrived 3 weeks early on 28 September 2020 at Poole Maternity Hospital to first time mum Hannah Rose Biles.

Placenta problems resulted in an emergency Caesarean but Rosie, who weighed 5lb 13 oz, and mum have recovered well.

Lizzie Holton-Frances welcomed Albert William Kit Holton-Frances ( Bertie) on 09/01/21. She had a home birth in Boscombe East and baby weighed 8 Ib 12 oz. A new brother for Tilly and Teddy, Bertie was born on his due date and was “brought into the world safely by 3 wonderful midwives”.

Abbey Brelsford welcomed Ottilie Jane Brelsford on 29/10/2020 at Poole Hospital, weighing 5lbs 13ozs, a sister for her adoring brothers Theodore and Sebastian and also loved by daddy Richard and Thornton the chocolate lab.
