OH DEAR, I must apologise for thinking it was April 1st when I read Sue Stockley's letter in the Echo Monday 8th March.
Ms Stockley suggests replacing the air festival with a cycling festival, now can I be so bold to suggest what planet she thinks she is on?
A cycling festival could take place as well, but as an alternative, most certainly not instead of.
The air festival has been a bone of contention for years between those who thoroughly enjoy it, myself being one of them, and those who see it as noisy and polluting.
The same latter people probably who had issues with a few cruise ships who were actually six miles offshore.
The stealers of joy to me.
From what I gather from both the air festival and our luxurious visitors in the bay, is that on the whole, they provide a lot of pleasure to a lot of people.
The air festival also brings a lot of money into the town as well.
I cannot believe Ms Stockley really thinks a cycling festival will provide the same amount of enjoyment, she is entitled to her opinion, but this is a totally crazy suggestion to me.
