AN UNAUTHORISED encampment of around a dozen caravans and vehicles has been set up in a Bournemouth car park.
BCP Council has confirmed that it is aware of the situation at the King's Park lorry car park.
Police have also been made aware of the encampment.
Local authority officers are visiting and monitoring the site on a daily basis.
The caravans are located near to AFC Bournemouth's Vitality Stadium.
A BCP Council spokesperson said: "We can confirm that an unauthorised encampment has established itself at Kings Park, consisting of 13 living units and associated vehicles.
“We are carrying out the statutory welfare and educational needs assessment and undertaking the necessary risk assessments to determine the level of support to be given to the group.
“The encampment will continue to be monitored on a regular basis.”
