In February 1963 buses and cars stranded on the ice-covered roads at the Bourne Avenue roundabout in Bournemouth. The sudden snow fall during the early hours made road conditions in Bournemouth the worst of the freeze-up. Severe winter of 1962/63.

I read a very good book set in Hertfordshire in that long winter.
It was 'His Coldest Winter' by Derek Beaven.
I lived near to the author but can only really remember that people were queueing outside Australia House for the chance to emigrate.
Dr Valentina Zharkova predicts that we are now entering a prolonged period of global cooling.
The next year should be very interesting.
