UNTIL 2018 the area between Bearwood and Canford Arena was all flower meadows.

This supported a multitude of pollinating and other insects.

These in turn supported various bats and other wildlife including nighjars, wood lark, reptiles and amphibians.

Now much of this area has been destroyed by developers.

There has been a noticeable drop in a number of species including the lose of art least two types of bats.

Meadowland holds double the amount of ground carbon of most woodland so BCP council need to plant double the area of trees which may take years to counteract the loss here.

Now the last area of meadow next to Bearwood school is up for grabs.

BCP council is always self advertising that it is green but is there anyone in authority out there who really cares about climate change, wildlife and nature or does money trump all?
