HOW can they say that droves of thousands of people sitting next to each other on a beach, passing each other along the prom, using the toilet facilities and food and drink kiosks together is not going to increase the spread of the Covid virus.

We are still fighting it and I can imagine it will mean a lot of locals will be keeping away from the packed beaches because there will be so many visitors there from different parts of the country.

Of course normally we welcome visitors to the town, but in the circumstances how can we safely enjoy the beaches knowing this horrible thing is around, and even the African strain.
