BOGUS callers claiming to be from the council are targeting residents in the New Forest.
New Forest District Council has received reports of people calling at homes giving false claims about local banks.
There are concerns that they may try to get banking details from people or access to their homes.
A council spokesman said: "We continue to hear of scams and illegitimate callers claiming to be from NFDC. The latest reports concern false claims about local banks.

"Please be extra cautious about people who say they are from the council. If you have any concerns about the authenticity of someone claiming to be from NFDC, call our customer services team on 02380 285000."
The spokesman urged people not to open their doors to cold callers and not to accept help from people who want money upfront for services such as shopping
