A 13-YEAR-OLD boy was arrested after a tug boat was set loose and got stuck under Poole lifting bridge.

The boat also crashed into an RNLI launch during a criminal damage incident on Friday January 29.

Police were told the boat was stuck under the bridge at 9.11pm.

Rough Rider - a Poole Harbour Commissioner tug boat - had been released from its moorings, causing it to float into the channel.

The rising tide caused damage to the bridge and the boat suffered substantial damage.

Its radar equipment was damaged, which will lead to "costly repairs".
