FEWER than 120 coronavirus cases were confirmed across Dorset in the last 24 hours, latest figures show.

Data released by the government shows 114 cases were recorded in the county in the 24 hours leading up to 4pm on Tuesday.

In the BCP Council area, 79 cases were confirmed, taking the total since the start of the pandemic to 24,035.

In the seven days leading up to February 11, the latest rolling seven-day period, 663 cases were recorded in BCP, giving a rolling infection rate of 167.7 per 100,000.

The Dorset Council area recorded 35 new cases, taking its total to 10,800.

The rolling rate stood at 107 per 100,000 people with 405 cases confirmed in a week.

Elsewhere, 27 cases were confirmed in the New Forest, taking the total to 5,727.

The rolling rate was 98.3 per 100,000, after 177 cases were confirmed in the lead up to February 11.
