MORE than 93 per cent of patients over 80-years-old at the Lifeboat Quay Medical Centre have received the Covid-19 vaccination.

Of patients aged between 75 and 79, 91.7 per cent have had the vaccine, 91.8 per cent of patients aged between 70 and 74, 84.8 per cent of clinically vulnerable patients and 76.9 per cent of 65- to 69-year-olds have also had the vaccine.

Jill, practice manager, said: “The vaccination clinic we are running at Poole Ferry Port together with the other central Poole surgeries is running really smoothly, and seems to have been well received by our patients.

“We have received a lot of very kind messages and emails from patients, which means such a lot to the whole team.

“We have been supported gallantly by a fabulous band of Volunteers – who have remained in good spirits despite the freezing weather.

“Poole Harbour Commissioners have been incredibly supportive throughout, and we couldn’t have done any of this without them. PRC Streamline Group are very kindly offering a discounted rate for patients to and from the Covid clinic.

“Greendale Construction Ltd, ASDA and Tesco have all very generously donated refreshments for the staff and volunteers working at the Port, who are giving up their free time and days off to deliver this incredibly important vaccination programme.

“Anyone aged over 65 who has not yet had their jab, please contact the surgery to book your appointment.”
