MORE than 150 coronavirus cases were confirmed in Dorset over the last 24 hours, latest figures show.

Data released by the government shows, in the 24 hours leading up to 4pm on Monday, 152 Covid-19 cases were confirmed across the county.

The BCP Council area recorded 93 cases, taking the conurbation’s total since the start of the pandemic to 23,324.

In the seven days leading up to February 3, the latest seven-day rolling period, 1,204 cases were recorded in BCP, giving a rolling infection rate of 304.6 per 100,000 people.

The Dorset Council area recorded 59 new coronavirus cases, taking the total to 10,382,

The infection rate stood at 175.7 per 100,000 people, with 665 cases confirmed in a week.

Elsewhere, 32 cases were confirmed in the New Forest, taking the total to 5,540.

The rolling infection rate was 132.7 after 239 cases were confirmed in the lead up to February 3.
