DO you ever wonder how much crime gets reported on your street? 

All of the crimes reported in December have been revealed by Dorset Police.

According to the most recent police.uk data there were a total of 2,045 crimes reported in Bournemouth during December 2020 - a figure that has only slightly risen compared to the previous month.

The data includes Bournemouth town centre, Charminster, Winton, Kinson, Bear Cross, Muscliff, Springbourne, Iford, Boscombe and Southbourne.

The most reported crime by a long way was anti-social behaviour which saw 717 reports across Bournemouth in December, down by 44 reports compared to November. 

Additionally, violence and sexual offence had the second-highest recorded rate of 572, a significant rise compared to the previous month.

The changes to the number of reports on each crime type could be down to the nation being in the tiers system in response to the coronavirus pandemic. 

Throughout December Bournemouth was placed under tier three restrictions, so people could not socialise outside of their households.

On December 30 we entered a national lockdown.

The third highest reported crime was criminal damage and arson that had 205 reports. 

Vehicle crime (91) and other theft (125) also topped the list. 

According to the data there were 68 reports of burglary, which is defined as illegal entry into a home with intent to commit a crime, usually theft. 

Possesion of weapons (10), theft from a person (6) and other crime (7) where the lowest reported crimes in December.
