THE number of new Covid-19 cases recorded in Dorset in the latest 24 hours is 233, according to the latest government update.

The Department of Health and Social Care website shows 158 new cases were reported in the BCP Council area in 24-hours up to 4pm on Monday, February 1.

This brings the total number of cases since the start of the pandemic within BCP's boundaries to 22,333.

Meanwhile, in the Dorset Council area 75 cases have been reported in the same period.

Since March 9,813 cases have been confirmed.

The number of cases in the BCP area over the latest rolling seven-day period is 1,793, with a rate of 453.5. In Dorset 864 cases have been confirmed in the last past seven days. The case rate is 228.3.

In the New Forest there were 27 new cases. The total in the district since the pandemic started is 5,318. A total of 345 cases have been seen in the past seven days and the case rate is 191.6.
