A FORMER pigsty can be redeveloped into a holiday let following approval by council planners.
The planning application for the address known as Smugglers in Sopley involves changing the use of the former piggery building and part of the adjoining building to create the self-contained one-bed unit.
The proposals, which were approved by New Forest District Council officers, feature installing glazing to the former pig run openings, enlarging the windows in the former pig sty, putting insulation in the roof and installing a fire escape door.
A separate application for listed building consent was also granted.
Ringwood East and Sopley councillors supported the plans, stating it seemed an "excellent way to re-use hitherto redundant agricultural buildings".
