A MAN has been jailed for assaulting two people just a day after he had been handed a suspended prison sentence by the courts.

Stephen Gadd received a suspended sentence of six weeks imprisonment at Poole Magistrates’ Court on December 23, 2020 after admitting offences of assault and a breach of a criminal behaviour order.

This related to an assault on a man and being intoxicated and acting in an anti-social manner in East Overcliff Drive, Bournemouth, the pervious day.

However, on Christmas Eve, Gadd, aged 55 and of no fixed abode, assaulted a man and a woman in Poole.

He appeared before magistrates in Poole again on Saturday, January 9, where he admitted two counts of assault, a breach of the suspended sentence order and failing to notify the authorities of his change of address status as a relevant offender under the Sexual Offences Act 2003.

Gadd’s suspended sentence order was implemented in full to run for six weeks, while he was handed a two-week consecutive sentence for the assaults on Christmas Eve, delivering an overall sentence of eight weeks in prison.

He was also ordered to pay £85 costs and a £128 surcharge.
