ANOTHER Bournemouth primary school has closed its doors and moved to remote learning amid growing concerns around coronavirus.

Bearwood Primary and Nursery School in Barons Road, Bournemouth, has closed “following an increase in transmission and infection rates”.

A letter sent from headteacher Laura Bennett to parents said: “A significant number of our staff have expressed concerns following the increase in transmission and infection rates currently recorded across England.

“They have followed union advice and informed me of their concerns. With this in mind, we will be moving to remote learning as of Tuesday January 5.

“Further details will be sent by the class teacher tomorrow. Please be aware that the remote learning on offer will be at least three hours a day ‘live’ teaching, where the class teacher will be delivering new learning each day.

“It is therefore imperative that all pupils access the online learning to ensure that they receive a full education

“If you are unable to access the online learning or need a loan of a device, please contact the school office by email.”
