A SECTION of beach near Hengistbury Head has been closed following a recent land slip on the clifftops.
BCP Council reported the cliff slip on Friday December 11, with residents urged to stay away from the bottom of the cliffs.
However, with the higher tides expected in the coming days, a 500-metre section of beach has subsequently been closed and people have been advised to “exercise caution” and stay away from the designated area.
A BCP Council spokesman said: “We’re urging visitors to Hengistbury Head beach to be vigilant.
“A 500-metre section of beach around the Head, between Hiker Café and Long Groyne is closed.
“With the higher tides and recent cliff slip, this part of the beach is no longer accessible.
“Please exercise caution, take a different route and avoid walking at the cliff base - don’t put yourself, your children or pets at unnecessary risk.”
