IT may be Christmas but public transport doesn't stop.

If you’re going to be getting out and about using Morebus, Yellow Buses or by train over the festive season, here’s the schedule to help you plan your journey.

MoreBus

Christmas Eve - A normal Thursday service will operate on all routes. A special hourly timetable will run on the U3, but there will be no service on any other UNIBUS route.

Christmas Day – The m1 and m2 will be running to a special timetable between 8am and 8pm, with the m1 extended to Royal Bournemouth Hospital and the m2 extended to Christchurch. No other buses will be running on Christmas Day. Special fares will apply. All period and concessionary passes are valid on Christmas Day.

Boxing Day - A Sunday timetable will run on the m1, m2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 13, 14, 16, 17, 40, 50, X3 and X8. The m1 will start at 6am from Poole and 5.55am from Castlepoint. The m2 will start at 6.10am from Poole and 5.39am from Southbourne. No other services will run.

December 27 - A Sunday service will operate on all routes.

December 28 - A Sunday service will operate on all routes.

December 29, 30 and 31 - A Saturday service will run on all routes with the following exceptions: A normal Tuesday service will operate on routes X1, X2, X3, X6, X8, 24, 38, 112, 119, 191, 193, Ringo and Cango. There will be some extra early morning journeys on routes 5, 8, 9, 13, 14, 16 and 17. A special timetable will run on U3 (hourly) but there will be no service on any other UNIBUS route.

New Year’s Day - Special timetables will operate on routes m1/m2, 8/9 and 13. A normal Sunday service will run on routes 5, 6, 16, 17 and X3. No other buses will be running on New Year's Day.

January 2- Normal timetables resume.

Yellow Buses

Christmas Eve – A Saturday service will operate except on routes 18, 21, 33, 36 and 737 which will run to normal Monday to Friday times. Routes 6h and 31 will not operate. Christmas Eve will see early finishes on those operating a Saturday timetable.

Christmas Day – no services will operate.

Boxing Day - There will be a special Boxing Day service but routes 4a, 6h, 12, 18, 21, 31, 33, 36 and 737 will not operate.

December 27 – A normal Sunday service.

December 28 (bank holiday Monday) – Sunday service.

December 29, 30 and 31 – A Saturday service will operate except on routes 18, 21, 33, 36 and 737 which will run to normal Monday to Friday times. Routes 6h and 31 will not operate. Early finishes will apply on New Year’s Eve.

New Year’s Day – There will be a special New Year's Day service. Routes 4a, 6h, 12, 18, 21, 31, 33, 36 and 737 will not operate.

January 2 - Normal Saturday service.

January 3 - Normal Sunday service.

January 4 - Normal Monday to Friday bus services resume.

South Western Railway

December 23  – a normal weekday timetable will operate.

Christmas Eve – there will be an early shut down of South Western Railway (SWR) services.

Christmas Day – no service will operate.

Boxing Day – no service will operate.

December 27 to January 3 – a significantly reduced service will operate. 12 trains per hour will run on the main line.

New Year’s Eve – The annual Central London fireworks display is cancelled and trains will not be operating through the night. Last trains will leave Waterloo before ​midnight.

January 1 - a Sunday service will run.

January 2 - a Saturday service will run.

January 3 - a Sunday service will run.

January 4 - Normal service resumes.
