RESIDENTS in East Dorset have been given security advice after a spate of shed and garage burglaries.

East Dorset Police said rural villages have been targeted with offenders raiding several premises in one visit.

A spokesman said: "Offenders seem to be entering several sheds or garages in a village in one visit, either forcing entry or entering insecure sheds or garages.

"Please review your outbuilding security, think about investing in a shed alarm. They can be obtained from DIY stores, work off batteries and are not very expensive. Also record serial numbers from your electrical and petrol tools."
