ALL 23 of Dorset Council’s libraries will be open again from Wednesday, December 2.

Although the libraries are not back to their full pre-Covid opening hours, nine locations will open in some afternoons.

Ferndown will be open on Tuesday and Saturday afternoons, as will Gillingham Library, Blandford Library will be open Thursday and Saturday afternoons, Sherborne Library will be open Monday and Saturday afternoons, as will Wimborne Library and Wareham Library will be open on Tuesday afternoons.

The other locations are Dorchester, Weymouth and Bridport.

Customers will be able to browse books and use the library computers.

The order and collect service will still be available as an alternative to visiting, and an exciting programme of activities will continue to be offered online.

Councillor Jill Haynes, portfolio holder for customer and community Services, said: “As this second lockdown draws to a close, we can’t wait to welcome back customers. We’ll continue to have measures in place so everyone can visit safely while they enjoy their library or information centre.

“I’d like to thank customers for their patience, and our employees for their creativity and passion which continues to make life a little more pleasurable for everyone during these difficult times.”
