I READ Leigh Hatt’s letter with interest, having recently finished The Salt Path by Raynor Winn.
It’s one of the most inspirational books I’ve read, telling how overnight Winn and her beloved, terminally ill husband, both in their fifties, lost their home and business.
With very little money they decided to walk the Salt Path – the coastal walk from Minehead to Poole.
They camped wild, at the mercy of sea and sky, unable to afford campsites, and existing on little more than dried noodles.
They began their spiritual 630 miles journey in the depths of despair, but along the way, found peace and hope.
All I can say is protect the Coast Path, don’t taint it with bicycles, cars, crowds of litterers. It’s a place of magic. It deserves respect.
