Back in the early part of the 20th century, Sandbanks Road, Poole, was still a narrow country road bordered by thatched cottages and trees and with cows grazing in the adjoining meadows. This remote hamlet of Lilliput pictured here in circa 1903 shows the Beehive Hotel which for many years was the only place of refreshments on the lonely trek from Parkstone to Sandbanks.
