A WOMAN found dead in her home home died of hypothermia, an inquest was told yesterday.

Lindsey Vivienne Pugh, a retired administrator, was discovered deceased in the bedroom of her Belmont Road home, Poole, after neighbours became concerned for her welfare.

The 69-year-old died on November 3, Dorset Coroner's Court was told.

Coroner Richard Middleton, who presided over a short hearing at Bournemouth Town Hall on Thursday, heard evidence from coroner's officer Phillipa Morgan.

Ms Morgan told the court: "Neighbours of Mrs Pugh had become concerned when she'd not been seen or heard from in a little while.

"They tried to contact her by telephone and by knocking on the door of the property."

Eventually Mrs Pugh's front door was forced and she was found dead in her bedroom.

Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene and, after a post mortem examination was carried out, the provisional cause of death was recorded as hypothermia.

Police attended the scene, the coroner's hearing was told, and they were able to confirm no third party involvement nor suspicious circumstances.

Mr Middleton, adjourning the inquest until a review scheduled for March 11 next year, said: "I will now sign all the appropriate forms to progress this matter.

"I will request evidence from a number of witnesses who will assist the coroner at the final hearing."
