WITH gyms shut due to the pandemic and the rain making it difficult to exercise outside, the Daily Echo takes a look back at when more than 40 youngsters jumped to the beat at a musical fitness spectacular in Verwood.

The children, aged from five to 15, all attended the popular Body Language classes and showed off the talents to parents and friends at the town's leisure centre.

As well as aerobics and mat work, they demonstrated muscle toning exercises and jazz and rock and roll dancing.

Teacher Linda Brooks told the Echo at the time: "I don't think that children get enough exercise, but this is a fun way for them to keep in trim."

The event was held on November 10, 1990 - thirty years ago today.
