A FURTHER five patients with coronavirus have died in Dorset hospitals.

The latest update from NHS England reported that two deaths at Poole Hospital involving patients who tested positive with Covid-19.

Both deaths occured on Wednesday, November 4.

Two deaths also took place at Royal Bournemouth Hospital, on Tuesday, November 3, and Friday, November 6, respectively.

One coronavirus death was recorded at Dorset County Hospital on Thursday, November 5.

Dorset's coronavirus hospital death totals throughout the pandemic now stand at 82 for Poole Hospital, 77 for Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals, 25 for Dorset County Hospital and 17 for Dorset Healthcare sites.

NHS England said across the country a further 283 people, who tested positive for the coronavirus have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 34,374.

Patients were aged between 39 and 100 years old. All except nine - aged 39-88 - had known underlying health conditions. The date of deaths ranged from May 14 to November 6. Their families have been informed.

Ten of these deaths were in hospitals across the south west.
