BH LIVE will close the doors to all its leisure centres on Wednesday night.

The centres, used by thousands of people every day, will reopen on December 2 at the end of lockdown.

Activities including gyms, classes, swimming and children's sports lessons will all be affected.

A spokesman said: "Following the Government’s announcement on Saturday, all of our leisure centres will be closing at the end of the day on Wednesday November 4.

"We expect to reopen on Wednesday December 2. However we will continue to monitor Government guidance and keep you informed with any developments and news of a reopening date.

"In the meantime, direct debit payments, including membership, tennis, gymnastics and swimming lessons, will be automatically frozen. Bookings, courses and annual memberships, including GymFlex, will also be frozen.

"If you have an event booking that is affected we will be in touch with you directly."

The spokesman said those who pay by direct debit at the beginning of each month will receive a readjustment when the centres reopen because November payments have already been processed.

Those who pay on the 15th of each month will not be affected.

BH Live runs the Littledown Centre, Pelhams, Stokewood, Corfe Mullen, Queens Park and Sir David English centres.

It also runs seven centres in Portsmouth including the Mountbatten and Pyramids as well as specialist gymnastics and tennis centre.

It has 20,000 members in the Bournemouth and Poole area and more than half had reactivated their memberships since centre reopened at the end of July after the first lockdown.

The spokesman added: "Thank you for your patience and we will be updating our website as soon as we have more information."
