WHILE we all dream of a day when social distancing and Covid-19 are nothing but nightmarish memories, the Daily Echo takes a look at pictures of a busy Bournemouth Carnival twenty years ago.
The date was August 6, 2000, when music, colour and laughter rolled through the streets of Bournemouth, watched by thousands of visitors and residents.
There was something for everyone in the mile-long procession; disco dancers, the Millennium Dome and a masquerade ball.
The 21 floats began their journey from the Town Hall at 3pm, before winding along Avenue Road, up past the Triangle, Exeter Road, past the Pier before eventually finding their way back to Meyrick Park where they'd congregated earlier in the afternoon.
