AN UNATTENDED vehicle which held two dead hares has been seized by police.
Whilst out on patrol in Burton, officers from the Rural Crime Team and Christchurch Police discovered an unattended 4x4 vehicle which was stuck in a ditch.
Two dead hares were found, one of which was inside the vehicle.
Officers discovered that the vehicle had been causing damage to crop and the driver had undertaken illegal off-roading.
The vehicle has been seized and enquiries are ongoing to locate the driver.
Initial enquiries suggest that the driver hadn’t registered the vehicle in their name.
Police are looking to speak to the owner of the vehicle to help their investigation.
Extra patrols will now be undertaken in rural areas.
