FOUR catalytic converters have been stolen from cars in Wimborne in a spree lasting less than 24 hours.

The thefts have prompted police to urge motorists to park in well-lit areas with the rear of the car close to fences or walls.

Dorset Police first received a report at 12.15pm on Monday October 5 of a theft of a catalytic converter from a car in Eden Grove in Wimborne.

The theft reportedly occurred between 12pm on Saturday October 3 and 13pm the next day.

Police were then made aware at 2.29pm on Monday October 5 of a catalytic converter from a car parked in station road. This reportedly happened between 12pm on October 3 and 12pm the next day.

At 8.28am on Tuesday October 6, police received a report of the theft of two catalytic converters from cars outside a commercial unit at Canford Bottom.

These thefts were reported to have occurred between 12pm on October 3 and 9am on October 5.
