A ROAD in North Dorset is closed after a vehicle crashed with a telegraph pole this morning.
Police have reported that the single-vehicle collision took place on the A357 at Fiddleford near the Fiddleford Inn.
The road is closed in both directions at the A354 Blandford roundabout and Bushes Road toward Pimperne.
Officers are urging motorists to find an alternative route.
The incident is affecting traffic between Blandford Forum and Sturminster Newton.
A Dorset Police spokeswoman said: "We received a report at 6.41am that a single vehicle had collided with a telegraph pole, which has fallen into the road.
"The vehicle needs to be recovered. The ambulance service attended and took the driver to hospital as a precaution."
