THE daily update for positive coronavirus cases from the government reported that another 21 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Dorset.

The online statistics site says 12 confirmed cases were recorded in the BCP Council area in the 24 hours up to around 4pm on Tuesday, September 8.

There have now been 957 positive tests in the conurbation, with a rate per 100,000 population standing at 241.1.

The Dorset Council area had nine more cases reportedly, taking its total to 699. The rate is now 184.7.

Meanwhile, in the New Forest, eight people tested positive. The district has now recorded 532 cases, with a rate of 295.4.

Across the UK, 2,420 people tested positive, down from 2,948 in Monday’s reported figures.
