A MOTORCYCLIST was caught travelling at more than double the speed limit on a Bournemouth road.
The 65-year-old rider was stopped by police after they clocked him doing 84mph in a 40mph limit on Ringwood Road towards Bear Cross on Sunday morning (September 6)
Officers from Dorset Police’s No Excuse team said the man “seemed surprised” that they had stopped him, and he claimed he didn’t think he was going that fast.
A spokesperson said: “The 65 year old rider of the bike who was travelling at 84mph seemed surprised to be stopped claiming he didn’t think he was going that fast, with currently seven points already on his licence he’s potentially looking at a ban, he was reported to court.”
Officers issued a total of four tickets to motorists caught speeding at over 60mph on the stretch of road during the operation.
