THE former boss of LV= has joined the board of a Sandbanks company specialising in property finance.

Richard Rowney, who spent 13 years at the Dorset-based insurer including four as chief executive, has become a non-executive director at MSP Capital.

Mr Rowney has worked in financial services for nearly 30 years, the first half of it in Barclays Bank.

At LV=, he led the sale of the general insurance business to Allianz.

He now works in advisory and non-executive director roles with private equity-backed companies.

He said: “I am enthused to be joining MSP Capital and to have the opportunity to assist in the continued growth of the business as they embark on exciting future initiatives.”

Mr Rowney lives in the New Forest with his wife and three daughters.
