SWANAGE'S East Bar has introduced temperature checks on the door and carried out a precautionary deep clean, after being told a member of public in the vicinity had tested positive for coronavirus.
In a statement posted on the bar's Facebook page, included to "clear up any false rumours that seem to be circulating," bar management says: "After being informed by a member of the public that was in the vicinity of the East Bar on Saturday night that they had since tested positive for coronavirus, we have been in contact with Public Health England and all other relevant authorities, who have confirmed there is no significant risk to public health or the wellbeing of our staff.
"We continue to liaise on a weekly and sometimes daily basis as we have done since reopening on 4th July."
However, the bar, on Swanage High Street, says it will now be carrying out temperature checks for anyone wishing to enter.
"Anyone who refuses to cooperate will be denied entry," said the statement. "We hope this clears up any false rumours that seem to be circulating."
