BOMB disposal experts have blown up a device found at East Creech in Wareham.
A loud bang was heard in the area at around 6.30am today.
A spokesman for Poole police said: "The military Explosive Ordnance Disposal team have attended to assist police at East Creech in Wareham. A small unexploded device had been located by a member of the public.
"If you heard a loud bang around this time it was military personnel disposing of the item in a controlled manner."
Officers said anyone finding such a device should not move it but should contact police.
