A SECTION of Christchurch Road has been closed in Pokesdown while police respond to an incident involvin a concern for welfare.
The road has been shut off between Seabourne Road and Clarence Park Road.
A spokesperson for Bournemouth East Police asked people to find an alternative route and follow directions given by officers.
Train services between Bournemouth and Christchurch have been suspended with all lines blocked.
South Western Railway has said train services running through these stations may be cancelled, delayed or revised due to "trespass on the railway". Disruption is expected until 1.30pm.
Dorset Police told the Daily Echo that British Transport Police were dealing with the incident.
A BTP spokesperson said: "Officers were called at 11.54am today to Pokesdown railway station to concerns for the welfare of a man in a precarious position.
"Officers attended alongside paramedics and the man was taken to a place of safety."
