A MAN smashed the glass of gambling machines at a Bournemouth bookmakers after getting upset and aggressive over losing money.

Staff at Betfred in Poole Road, Westbourne, were left "very distressed" by the criminal damage incident.

It was reported that a man was using the betting machines in the premises and became upset after financial losses.

Police say he then became aggressive and punched the machines, which caused the glass to smash.

Officers investigating the incident, which took place at around 2pm on Sunday, July 19, are issuing images of a man they would like to speak to.

PC Russell Thomas, of Bournemouth police, said: “This incident left staff in the store feeling very distressed and an investigation is underway to identify the man.

“Following enquiries, I have obtained CCTV images of a man I would like to speak to. I would ask anyone who recognises him to please get in touch.”
