DORSET Police were called to two separate incidents in Mudeford on Sunday night involving a robbery and a man seen carrying a knife.
Officer arrived at Mudeford Beach after a bike was allegedly stolen from a man in his 20s.
Just 30 minutes later armed police were summoned to Mudeford Wood Community Centre on Pipers Drive in Christchurch after receiving reports of a man seen in possession of a knife.
A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray.
An 18-year-old man from Christchurch has also been arrested on suspicion of assault and robbery.
A police spokesman said: “We were called at 8.06pm on Sunday August 9, 2020 to reports of a robbery on Mudeford Beach in Christchurch.
“It is alleged a bicycle was stolen from a local man aged in his 20s.
“At 8.39pm on Sunday August 9, 2020 it was reported that a man was in possession of a knife near Mudeford Wood Community Centre on Pipers Drive in Christchurch.
“Armed officers attended the incident and a local 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray.
“An 18-year-old man from Christchurch has been arrested on suspicion of assault and robbery.
“Both men are assisting officers with their enquiries.”
