A POOLE man has appeared in front of magistrates after being caught at the wheel of a BMW over the alcohol limit, without an appropriate driving licence and without insurance during the coronavirus lockdown.
Jake Liam Burns, aged 27 and of Newlyn Way, had 43 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath when he was stopped by officers in Herbert Avenue, Poole, on May 2.
The legal limit is 35 micrograms per 100 millilitres of breath.
Officers found he also did not have a licence to drive the vehicle or hold car insurance for it.
The defendant appeared at Poole Magistrates’ Court on July 14, where he was fined £350, disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 14 months and ordered to pay a £35 surcharge and £85 costs.
