PRIMARK has said customer health and wellbeing is its highest priority after a customer fell down an escalator.
The elderly lady tripped on the escalator in the Poole Primark store in the Dolphin Shopping Centre.
A witness described the incident as “sickening”.
Posting in the Poole Community Facebook page, a woman said: “People were screaming, a member of staff shouted 'Oh my god' and crouched down asking are you ok are you ok?
“The sound of whatever it was was sickening and I had to hustle my son away.”
A second witness said the lady fell from the top of the escalator and a member of staff hit the emergency stop straight away.
A spokesperson for Primark said: “Customer health and wellbeing is our highest priority.
“We confirm that Primark first aiders attended to a customer with minor injuries at our Poole store on July 20 and no further treatment was required."
