AN UNINSURED and unlicensed drink driver who was caught at more than double the legal alcohol limit in Ferndown has been banned from the roads for two years.

Louise Clair Collins, aged 35 and of St George’s Drive, Ferndown, was found guilty of driving a blue Nissan Almera in Wimborne Road East on October 28 last year with 94 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath – the limit is 35 micrograms per 100 millilitres of breath.

She had pleaded not guilty at a hearing in November 2019, however, magistrates in Poole convicted her on July 6.

Collins was ordered to pay a £300 fine, a £32 victim surcharge and £200 costs, alongside the two-year driving ban.

She was also found guilty of driving without a licence or insurance. Her driving record was endorsed but she received no separate financial penalty for these offences.
