He said that at 9am, 26.3C had been recorded at Hurn Airport which, before yesterday, was the highest temperature of the year.
Yep 25c at 820 at the Airport. That’s as warm as it ever gets in the U.K. at this time of day full stop!

Yesterday temperatures reached 30C in Bournemouth with 28C recorded just before 9pm.
Fellow weather enthusiast Jim Smith said he recorded an overnight minimum of 20.5C at his weather station in Springbourne.
He said: “I *think* that is the warmest night here since August 2003, and the first time we have exceeded 20°C as an overnight minimum since then.”
The Met Office has issued a warning of thunderstorms for Dorset for later today.
The warning comes into force from 4pm and is valid until 9am on Thursday.
Probably the biggest thunderstorm risk of the year later tonight. A entire day of surface heating and some very unstable air makes it a great opportunity for some well organised thunderstorms overnight. Risk from 22:30. pic.twitter.com/EmA3NLJbR3
